1. Illuminated Crystals: finely crafted stone lamps!
Our friend and fellow vendor here (Rockwater, Ltd.) has no Social Media presence, nor particular interest in getting promotion – but wow – what an amazing selection of craftsmanship displayed here at the Spring NJ Gem Show. The crystals themselves – apart from their placement in these wooden wonders – are not particularly rare or unusual towers (most of them), it’s the combination and the artistry that really makes them truly stand out. 3. Tiffany glass repair remnants: fascinating freeforms!
Who knew? Tiffany’s manufacturing process had to be reinvented (no more toxic chemicals) – by this studio referenced (in Florida) – which repaired the storied lamps for 30 years, and in the process, accumulated a bunch of attractive slag remnants. I have a selection of a dozen odd spectacular examples thereof – not featured in this video – I’ll be making another video just about them. 4. Perspective (some thoughts on life and the world)
I’m gearing up for slew of shows – including the logistically challenging Denver show – which will stretch my resources to the limit (but I’m good with the challenge).
Internationally, it’s sobering – and oh, so predictable – that a week into the new conflagration in the Middle East that you have isolationists in the US pretending they can hide their heads in the sand while others here side with the most dangerous, undemocratic, misogynistic (and homophobic) terrorists in the world.
