1. New York skyscraper cityscape: The City at Night, 90th floor
I like combining work with pleasure – especially when it comes to visiting New York City – we made it a bit of a birthday celebration for my son Kobi. Great restaurants and views happened, including this one at 1 Vanderbilt (which is literally next to Grand Central Station) – featuring “the Summit” – a 3D experience 90 flights up. The video “explains” it better than my words could. There were actually 3 floors – a mylar ball room that was very fun and surreal – there were fans blowing them about.

3. New Life Expo: we were the crystal ‘life of the party’
Record set-up time here, between pulling up, and throwing blankets over my completed display. This was all thanks to my son Kobi, who came with me to help. We had a credible display of some of our most popular items, but only a subset – mostly jewelry and display pieces – went at this event. The event? The New Life Expo – it’s perhaps the longest running holistic expo in the world – coming up on 30 years running. Good, but older audience. And very valiant of organizer Mark Becker, to weather changes in venue and economics, to keep bringing The City this special showcase of vendors and practitioners.
4. Perspective (some thoughts on life and the world)
It’s nice to have a respite from shows – but I’m still frantically preparing for the next 3 – one wholesale and two retail, with LOTS of new product to share. The next weeks will be filled with family visiting and traveling to see friends in need.
Politically, we witnessed big demonstrations this weekend – the largest I’ve seen in my little town of Arlington – over 1000 people: many with their kids, carrying meaningful signs. I’m glad people are riled up – it’s nice to see righteous anger – versus hypocritical double-edged self-righteousness.
My next Perspective Video is about how it’s so hard to “agree to disagree” – when after all – we’re not talking about ice cream flavors here.
