1. Featured Crystal Video: Ruff n Polished, set n not JET stone
See our LIVE series for the MANY pendants we’ve been getting custom built from outstanding stones and cabochons. I’m still learning about this enigmatic material. It’s one I use often, metaphysically, for Internal Clearing. Turns out it’s form of coal – 75% Carbon and 12% Oxygen – and is formed at high pressure compression, with exposure to salt water, from a form of Araucarian conifer that was prevalent millions of years ago. The oldest known working of Jet into jewelry dates back 10,000 years. And apparently if you rub it – you might elicit an electric charge – similar to Amber. Coincidentally (or not) I ascribe to them both a Healing aspect, due to their comparably light density. Jet’s a petrification of wood that is unusual, because it does not involve fossil replacement by heavy Quartz.
